HIMALAYAN BIRD PARK

HIMALAYAN BIRD PARK

The famous Himalayan Bird Park, located in the heart of Shimla city, is home to rare and exotic birdlife. Undoubtedly, from morning to evening, the ecological spot is crowded with bird watchers and wildlife photographers. The park has various distinct subspecies of pheasants, peacocks, and peafowls. Himachal Pradesh’s state bird ‘Himalayan Monal’ evokes the curiosity of each visitor.

The ideal time to pay a visit to the Bird Park, also known as Himalayan Aviary, is during summer. During winter, the place gets covered in snow often. Again, visitors may miss certain species of birds that migrate to warmer areas when snow arrives.

The nearest landmark near the Bird Park is Viceregal Lodge. Visitors can spend some quality time with family and friends from 10 am to 6 pm, except on Mondays. The tourist spot is at an easily commutable distance of just 1.5 kilometers from Shimla Railway Station. Along with birds, wide varieties of flora- rare plants and trees enrich the park’s greenery.
